No, because the best 3 point shooting teams also had really good ball movement on offense.

The NBA has continued to improve over time, and players are getting bigger, stronger, faster and more skilled moving forward.:patrice:

Shooting and passing are skills that have improved (especially from bigger players).
So seeing spacing and crisp ball movement blossom into prolific perimeter shooting is a beautiful thing from my perspective. :blessed:

Don't like it? Want to stop it? Then play better defense:yeshrug:

Exactly. The teams that doing the best are using penetration and mismatches to create open players and then getting them the ball with really quick ball movement.

I don't see how people can get pissed off at teams shooting the ball well, passing well, spacing well, getting away from isolation to run real offensive sets, having big men that can move and pass and shoot and play D from the rim to the 3pt line....it's a beautiful game.

It's become unwatchable... There was a stretch in the ATL vs Cavs game of 8 straight possessions of 3s...:francis:

No ball movement, no kid range games, no cutting, no post up games, etc:scust:

:dwillhuh:

No ball movement? :usure:

No cutting? :usure:

There's no mid-range game because it's generally stupid to try for 2 points when you can get 3.

Post-up game is of limited use in most situations....but have you not been watching fukking LMA??? Wade, Millsap, Joe Johnson, Kawhi, Lebron, Durant, Livingston, Love, Duncan, and Draymond can all pull it out effectively when they need to as well, they just realize that it's not always the thing they need to go to.

edit: Checked the stats and forgot a couple names. Boban and Diaw have been beasts in the post!

cant do much unless you widen the court and push the line back. but even laymens know the corner 3 is the most efficient shot in the nba next to a layup at the rim, and some teams continue to be lax in defending it, thats on them.

Blame the zone :yeshrug:. That really stiffles individual brilliance inside the arc. If you can't shoot/dont have shooters you got nothing coming into today's league.
That said, how we go from nominating Steph for sainthood to bemoaning all the threes?:dead: What couldve happened in the last 24 hours to cause such a shift? :jbhmm:

lol nope if you actually watch the games you realize the vast majority of them are not decided by the 3 ball

People find anything to complain about

As if 1998 Knicks Heat games with 70-80 points scored were entertaining...

Or people enjoyed when the Pistons were holding teams to 70 points.

People will always complain and then look back on things from the past with a mythological view.
The early 00s were dreadful.

Then the nash and dantoni suns crushed the buildings and set the blueprint

U mean the kings
No i mean the suns.

King has good ball movement but only 1 real 3pt shooter in peja. He's the only player that made over 100 3s.

The suns has 2 players with over 100 and another with over 200

This. shyt has become unwatchable and is just a copy cat league so much so that the offensive scoring big man/center is all but extinct now. Sad b/c I use to get so excited when games come on.

The NBA hasn't become a glorified three-point contest yet, but unless they push the line back or remove it all together it will be.

The UNC/Nova championship game is a good indicator of how things will go where teams will just trade threes. No lead will be too big and no shot will be too clutch. It will be entertaining, but not to people who knew the game before this style change.
