Has there ever been a song to have more phrases enter the cultural lexicon than Ether?

the ether
Nobody quotes any of those in real life but Ether

I made the thread after someone used "smile like a proud dad, watching his only son that made it", and it made me think of how many of these phrases I keep hearing.

"murdered you on your own shyt" and "gave you a style for you to run with" are used all the time here and elsewhere, and all the others are used on occasion as well. Literally have posters in the OP and commenters after that confirming it.

the ether
I would say probably Hit 'Em Up, Takeover, & Stan are on par with Ether.

I dunno about Story of Adidon though :patrice:

Takeover has "You made it a hot line, I made it a hot song", "You had a spark when you started" and "We don't believe you, you need more people". That's pretty good but it doesn't match Ether's list. Hit 'Em Up and Stan don't have any phrases on par with what Ether put out, and ironically Ether is really the song that helped popularize "Stan" as a word folk actually used.

Takeover also had Jay's math error :mjlol:

Think of all the million people that have been called a Stan IRL and online. The one thing Jay can say he was the original of, was being called a Stan :ahh:

""Insert subject here" is the army, better yet the navy" is practically a coli tradition.

Ether coined the phrase"ether' but it's a stretch to claim it has as many quotables as Takeover.

That army/navy line is a bite off of B.G.'s "Cash Money Is An Army". Can't say that Jay took a hot line and made a hot song because it was a hot song before Jay made it a hot line.

"Taebo ho"
"36 in a karate class trying to work it out trying to be brolic."

I heard both these used to clown people back then. The karate line people just use to change the age and say the rest.
