I dont like using titles as the sole barometer

however, its very close. I could argue for either at this point.

Hell no. the dream shyts all over duncan. Better post moves, jumper, rebounder, shot blocker, and shot alterer. Duncan is a beast too but he had the benefit of playing against inferior big men, weaker teams, and a better coach. I loved rudy t but he was more motivation while pop is more stratigic.

Yes, Duncan is better. Winning does matter. And the fact Dream wasnt able to lead his team out of the first round on a couple occasions, so the "Jordan was in his way" thing doesnt work. Dream had better post moves and had a more visually appealing game, but Duncan had a more effective game because of his size and durability.

to the first 3 posters...how do you explain Duncan having so many more titles than Hakeem?

what if he wins this year and adds a 5th

what does he have to do surpass Hakeem? and the answer better not be...GO BACK IN TIME

Duncan has more rings, and is the greatest at his position all time. The stats are virtually equal. They are both the same all time IMO. Hakeem doesnt have any edge over him other than a more visually pleasing game. Heads need to get over this, Timmy is one of the most consistant players of all time.

:wtf:

the Rockets fell apart after Ralph Sampson got injured and then traded him. They missed the playoffs one time.

It had nothing to do with Mike and Magic and everything to do with the Rockets franchise being a mess, and Hakeem not being focused himself.

I hate when people drop the simple "oh, Mike and Magic were in their way" when the only times Hakeem faced Magic in the playoffs, the Rockets beat them in '86 and got swept in '91 (when the Lakers were past their prime), and the Rockets only made the finals 3 times, and the WCF only 4 times in Hakeem's career.

as for Duncan in that era, I dont see why not? Dude woulda been either the first or 2nd best big man in the late 80s/early 90s.

edit: Lakers beat the Rockets in 1990 also, which is what I forgot. That was the first round and the Rockets were an 8th seed.
