Has your intelligence ever affected your relationships?

I don't mean to make this thread as an elitist type of thing, and I'm assuming all of you are intelligent in a unique way, so I pose this qustion to all.

Attractive women (the ones men seek) usually down play their intelligence upon first interaction, and as a worse case scenario do not value intelligence and therefore do not seek to improve on it.

So when you wanna chat it up with them , you gotta bring yaself down a few notches, and this is what hinders myself from really enjoying clubs/bars/events, because even if attractive women approach me (and they do...) I don't want to dumb myself down just so I can maybe appeal to them.


Anyone ever have their own perceived intelligence hinder their interactions with the opposite sex?

Yes, man it felt so good to meet my current girl. We can talk and neither of us have to dumb down the conversation.

One chick i was banging out would only talk about who was hating on her, whatever drama was going on in the latest reality show, and her clothes. It was a strain messing with her but them DDs helped a lot.

But i gotta say just as bad is a smart chick who always has to be smart. Like you take her to a party at your friends house and she acting like a professor.

Aight girl i was messing with very smart graduated with honors with both BS and Masters. Got a great job as well but sometimes when having a regular convo her face would be

The questions i would get at times would irk the fukk outta me.


Its not always bad because she isnt hip to anything really.

All the damn time...even at $14,000/year private high schools you get this valley girl, anti-intellectual garbage from women and I'm just like, "You go to the best school in the damn state, can you at least act a LITTLE more intelligent?"

I have no real interest in adapting too much for any woman, so I usually try to date women who are more intelligent than me and I have to keep up with, rather than the reverse. The relationship is more interesting that way, in my opinion.

My only gripe is it seems sometimes she just throws common sense into the bushes.

For instance. Something going on wrong with car. Doesn't take it in to get fixed untill that shyt is broke down on the express way and got to get it towed.

Real shyt about smart girls not using common sense some times. They like to over analyze things and make it some confusing riddle and deeper than what it is. But i still like them smarter than me. Keeps me on my toes and if shes a freak to boot

I have downplayed my intelligence to be with dudes before because if I spoke to them like I would speak to people school they would be like I don't understand that crap. They would talk about my degrees (B.S Biochemistry, Minor in Foreign Languages and Literature, and had M.D. by 25) like you on some Einstein ****. The most common line I have ever gotten was dang girl you smarter than you look, I didn't expect a girl who like you to be that smart.

As long as she has common sense and isn't easily swayed by emotion , I am good.

I really do not want to debate nor discuss world affairs with my girl, I mean here and there is cool but not on a daily basis.
