Since Trump to Now, how has your quality of life improved?

Not a troll thread but this is just out of curiosity.

Are you able to find quality, affordable living, resources & food? Do you feel any safer than you did before 2016? Do you think that either administration was responsible for that increase/decrease in quality?

I've felt the economic squeeze but given my career and where I live my quality of life hasn't really been impacted by this administration. It probably puts a squeeze on others though

1. cheap living? No. Cheap food? No.

2. I live in the Bronx. That more than answers your question about safety.

3. I don't think either administration did a stellar job, but I credit Democrats for being willing to work on stuff. When someone gotta lie about the most insignificant shyt, I can't trust em. Trump was responsible for mishandling the pandemic. Biden was responsible for not being able to rectify many things, though dammit he tried with the student loans.

I make more money in Biden years.

but I was also a student in Trump years.

I'll be fine no matter who wins. Unfortunately, money is an insulator to the shocks of policy in this country

Any time you consider something like this, like tying a year to a feeling- there are so many variables that are likely to be MORE impactful to your life than president. Your age. Your relationships. Your job. What city you were in. For instance, 2008, for the 22 year old me, felt great until the September crash. But it felt good. I felt like my money was right, but I made significantly less money. Rent was less than 1/2 of what is now.

if I was trying to do this exercise, the Trump years felt very chaotic, protests, COVID. 2023 also felt very uneven and rocky. Not like my money was fukked up, but the feeling of the year, from headlines, your friends, observing the world.

but there's reasons for that, higher political engagement from me, compared to let's say 2012-2016, which felt really smooth, I was also younger, less aware of it all.
