How is the reliability of these Korean appliances long term? I know most of these American brands are built in China now with shyt components. The parents have a whirlpool set of appliances they bought about 7 years ago that are running good and her original G.E. fridge from the 70s in the garage that won't quit.

well if hyundai's and kia's can make it, so can samsung appliances. I have never bought their appliances until last month, but their tv's have always worked fine for me.

last washer/dryer I had were frigidaire, and the motor has gone out twice on the washer for the spin cycle. first time it went out was after like 6 months. got it fixed for free under warranty. but repairman left an extra motor for some reason in the package which I kept all these years til the motor went out again about 2 months ago. I had to pay to get it fixed, but it only cost me $90 since I had the part already.

I just mentioned this. my sister has them, and she says they do get mildew. others have told me the same thing, cuz I almost got them. even the folks at BB told me they get mildew. basically said you gotta leave the washer door cracked at all times to prevent the mildew. I got digital top loaders to avoid that nonsense.

About a year ago when I had to help my mom get her washer fixed, the Sears dude straight up told us these new stackable washers are fukking trash. They make them look pretty, but they don't last more than 5 years without fukking up. The top load ones are the ones to get, them hoes last for like 10 years.

That's what I hear about pretty much all of the newer appliances...sure they'll last for about 3 years with no issues, but beyond that they are probably trash and disposable. I'll need a new fridge in about a year...I'm thinking a 3-4 year old Thermador or Sub-zero in a small size.

I was gonna get front loading washer, but EVERYONE told me not to get them cuz the insides get moldy and to get top loaders. plus top loaders are cheaper.

leave the doors open when not in use and pull out the tray.

That's what we do with our Electrolux
