Back when I was a teen living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, us black kids never really ventured to any of them south MS cities just north of I-10. Stayed right along that strip from Moss Point to Bay St Louis(Biloxi and Gulfport).

Saucier, MS
Vancleave, MS
Lucedale used to be that way, but it’s pretty black now.

I've played ball in Harrison, AR, been semi stranded in rural north dakota, and man I won't even get started on southern MS or the Western states..

It’s not about being scared of whites, but if you in a small rural town, you could fukk around and die a really grizzly unnecessary death at the hands of a group of folks who were born hating you

just like i don’t fear people that look like me, but i know better than to be in certain areas and I’m not from around there
