the ironic thing about this thread is the average person , even a genuinely stupid person, thinks they are smarter than everyone else

people also often confuse being knowledgeable or being ignorant or acting dumb in certain contexts as being stupid

it's also hard to know how smart someone without some academic/scientific measure, measure of success, or test of "street smarts" in a specific context but that doesn't account for the people who hide or don't know how smart/gifted they truly are

however, a good amount of people lack the ability to learn, think in terms of, and apply higher level abstract concepts

Both of these are correct (nothing ironic about this thread/the question however), and the former is what grates me. People overestimate themselves vastly in general but mainly when it applies to being ready/willing/able to opine at-length on any and everything that becomes a topic of discussion, even complex ones they don't care to do cursory reading about. It's very socially obnoxious and very unself-aware but I sparingly come across it amongst certain types.

Regardless, the topic/context is dating, and how the experience was doing so, whatever your indicators for stupid are.

I don’t think so- it’s so awkward when you’re at a function and someone’s tagalong says something so incredibly dumb that everyone’s giving each other looks and holding back laughter
Like “this you huh”

I have had fantasies of a hunk himbo but it never bears out in reality. Soon as they talk about not believing in dinosaurs I get the Kanye stone face.

In what way OP? You mean like dumb dumb? Nah. The dudes I’ve dated have been pretty intelligent. I can’t really deal with somebody dumb intimately.

I’m literally turned on by intelligence so it wouldn’t even make it off the ground otherwise.
But I have dealt with dudes who were emotionally clueless or oblivious to social interactions and nuances.:dwillhuh:

But for the most part, I dealt with pretty smart guys who are intelligent in a lotta different ways. Sometimes, they just impress me with how they can pivot from role to role flawlessly. I really don’t want you if I can’t learn something from you.

Is that who you lean towards as partners? As well as your social circle/friendship group?
Maybe. Dated a lawyer, last girl was an “entrepreneur” one before wasn’t crazy dumb either. Are we putting what they like to consume into account? Not just food but media as well. They all didn’t seem to be invested in talking about politics (we did but not extensive long breakdowns like how some girls on SM try to be) cut out a good portion of my social group, but yeah none of them I would consider having crazy intelligence. The ones I keep around are fairly smart are professions/annual pay go into account as well because some of the smartest people I went to school w/ ain’t making shyt. I just don’t like dating someone I feel like I have to prepare for a huge debate or every other question is a compelling thought provoking one it gets draining

This is your second "contribution " to this thread. You (but not actually you) were asked a question. Is this the sum of your contribution asking for how it was dating a stupid person?

TLDR you done or you finished?

Your own "definition" or threshold for stupid.
