Who the fukk on Microsoft thought it was a good idea?

On 360, installing the game was an option... Why the fukk is it mandatory on this gen?

Games are becoming increasingly larger files and optical drives can't keep up. It's a necessity at this point.

At least it's quieter. Towards the end of the last console cycle my 360 sounded like an airplane

Most ps4 games take like 1-3 minutes before you can launch. Xbox one you have to wait for the entire install to boot it up.

The system shoulda launched with 1tb or 2tb hard drives. I'm primarily a PC gamer and both my X1 and ps4 are almost full. I don't even have that many games. 500 gb is way too small with mandatory installs.

and 1 TB is too small for any half way serious gamer. I agree though, 1TB should have been the baseline.

Streaming from the HD is faster than from the disc.

If they didn't do this the games wouldn't play the way they do now with assets loading in quickly, and sharp textures not taking 5 seconds to draw in and draw distances being what they are.

Trust me you'd be more upset if they didn't do this because games would look and perform way worse.
