He should reveal the REAL secret to that beat

The fact that q tip actually made that shyt. :lolbron:

Havoc my have created that piano loop but q tip was responsible for everything else. The drums, the other blended samples, and engineering.

Anyone who is a student of hip hop production knows Q tip pretty much did all the beats on the infamous album. And he only got credit for like 2 of them.

Just listen to the drums on every track. Those are q tips ATCQ drums! And listen to the beautifully blended jazz samples in a lot of them. Thats signature q tip.

Probably why q tip never worked with them again and why the infamous album was so great

@chopchop702 is full of shyt.
I have the shook ones vinyl single and there is no mention of Q Tip on it. Of course that dropped before the album so if Tip had involvement in it it would have been credited.
Tip definitely played a big part in the sound of the album via beefing up the drums, producing three songs and I imagine mixing and engineering, but the leap to ā€œQ-Tip pretty much did all the beatsā€ I Completey unsubstantiated bullshyt.

Had Tip actually fully produced the entire album, you’re telling me he would have just let Mobb Deep take all the credit, not to mention getting financially fukked over? It makes no sense. It doesn’t fit. If it doesn’t fit, @chopchop702 can eat a dikk.

See I always thought it was the opposite.

The infamous always sounded grittier, grimier, and overall more organic.

I absolutely love Hell on Earth and while the beats are darker on HoE, in my personal opinion they’re not grimier than shook ones, start of your ending, eye for an eye, QU hectic, etc. HoE always sounds super refined when compared to Infamous.

im def splitting hairs here but HoE sounds darker but not grimier than albums like Liquid Swords, the infamous, return to the 36 chambers.

The Infamous is like GoodFellas, Hell On Earth is like Casino. Both incredible movies but to me GoodFellas just feels more organic

There’s an interview I read recently where Tip lays out exactly what he did for the album and he didn’t mention ghost producing.

I’ll see if I can find it.

Maybe it was this?
