What ferry said is not enough to be labelled a racist. I read the scouting report and that is the language used. I think the bigger problem here is the comfort level of scouts to put that in a report. What other things have been said about other players behind closed doors?
Now I understand you have to use better judgement in the business setting, but during this time where everyone is outraged and mobbing against these sports figures we have to understand these are not offenses where you should lose your job. Their are other less harsh punishments that can be given to ferry.
Korver has already spoken up and supports ferry. This mans reputation does not deserve to go down the drain over one mistake. You cant really think what he said is more inflammatory than sterlings comments. If deng is showing signs of being 2-faced with coaches, I think that is relevant for the culture of our team.
What he said IS enough to be labeled a racist and he has been labeled that by many people. Maybe not in your opinion, but he has been labeled a racist based on what he's said.
@the bold may be true, but what does that have to do with Ferry? He MADE the comments. The fact that it's happening with other scouts in other boardrooms doesn't give Ferry a pass to say what he said.
IMO these offenses ARE enough to lose your job over...especially if you're in a position where you are representing a franchise and your job is to make personnel decisions on athletes (who are predominantly African American in a predominantly African American city).
BTW, I do agree that if Deng is two faced as a person that's relevant, but why bring up his ethnic & racial background as a way to qualify it?
I don't envision a scenario where he returns and honestly good riddance
