I know a lot of HBCU grads. It depends where you go and what's your major. It's far easier to get a job from a HBCU as a Black person than from a PWI. When companies go to PWI, they look for cacs. Simple as that. Maybe an Asian or Indian but mainly cacs. Most Blacks even with get grades at PWI getting jobs. Without question, I would go to a HBCU but it can't be just any. It has to have the special five:

1. Network- What's the alumni network like?
2. Pipeline- Do major to mid major companies hire Blacks from this school? Do they have a pipeline to Harvard like Morehouse and Spelman?
3. Community- Does the school have a sense of community
4. Pride- Do they take pride in their image like a Morehouse man or a Howard student. I like what Hampton does as well.
5. Cost- Is it going to cost more than you can bite-off.

For the most part, HBCU's clearly lack the infrastructure and resources of major HBCU's. But it's strong in areas PWI can't give you. Now, some HBCU's are trash like some PWI's. I would say as a Black men or women. A top tier HBCU can have as much value as a top tier PWI at the end of the day since companies still hire like it's the 70's. Get our Blacks from the Black school. Go to the top PWI's to get our Whites, etc.

You're right. HBCU's are cool for undergrad, especially if you have the intent of getting a 4.0 and attending an elite grad school. So you can say "I experienced it" and go on to become an outstanding member of society.

Can't go to an HBCU for grad school or beyond though. :scusthov: Half the professors don't even have PhD's.

I sound like @Chris.B ouchea. :mjlol:
Breh, you don't have to have as high of a GPA to get into a great Ivy league school if the school has a pipeline with that institution. I seen it happen with my friends. Now out of a PWI, :mjlol: You better try to do whatever to get an interview.

After really knowing ppl in the industry and doing business on a higher than average level, I should have taken my Black ass to Clark Atlanta. No lie. Regardless of what those GA politicians or DeKalb say, I ain't no damn Morehouse man type. I respect it but Clark is more for me. My type of ppl.

I went to a PWI thinking white is right and constantly tapdancing :snoop:

lil cousins just got a full ride to Howard and doesn't want to go....dude thinking about taking out dept on going to university of maryland :mjlol:

I need to get on the phone with this mufukka tommorow
fukk is wrong with him. :snoop: You gotta teach these young nikkas they Black. They seem to forget that sometimes. I had a Univ of Maryland guy with a master's working under me. :snoop: I would look at him like :damn: all of that and you under me in this shytty position. His aunt asked me for months to get him in the door. I did what I can do and got him. It took longer than I assumed. Ole boy was a hell of a talent tho. One of my favorite guys I've worked with. He probably could have went to Howard and would have been banking mid 70's out of college tho with the network to move up fast. Thankfully we both got the hell out and :eat: now.

This sucks but we need black k-12. Outside of morehouse and howard no hbcu has a network worth paying for.

Black k-12 and a couple elite colleges is what we should aim for instead of having no k-12 controlled by blacks and a bunch of struggling colleges.

Tuskegee, Shaw, Spelman, Xavier(LA), etc. Mainly the private schools. Clark is above average. It lacks heavy in some areas overly exceeds in others. As for public, most of them wack. Alabama A&T is solid as is NC A&T.

Floria A &M too. I think we should strive to have an eilite k-12 pipeline and a set of highly respectable colleges. Until we do better k-12 hbcu are low on my priority list.

That would take us building a shytload of private schools. That something we/community and the church can do. It's clear public schools don't prioritize the Black child and has a setup from kindergarten to jail. Most kids have to overcome to a degree in that climate. As much as I don't care for that Black astronomer dude ya'll love, he was right about having to be dead set to make it. We need to develop our kids with the skills where just being dead-set isn't the only option.
