:to: HBO is for the people

but I was having trouble logging into my parents optimum account the other night so I was forced to sign in through my xfinity….I feel like there was a block on it because the sign in screen kept glitching

If Hbo were to do this it would be a death blow to cable fiber and sattelite companies...because honestly I wouldn't need to tack on the fios hbo tier package

streaming isn't perfect though i have like a 75mpbs connection directly connected to my pc and there is still lag or pauses every now and then so i'm not quite ready to give up the quality of a direct fios feed and blu ray discs

a lot of times that has nothing to do with the stream though...(not from services like HBO, Netflix, etc) it has more to do with your connection and its QOS. it depends on how your packets are prioritized and also how they are routed. (low on residential accounts) if you have prioritized packets (business class) then a 10mbps connection would stream more reliably than one that is non-prioritized or less dedicated. if you have a 75mbps connection and you are getting lag, that is more of an indication of the service than the stream.

Hbo is one thing but entire famalies actually sharing one netflix account
Some broke ass hoe shyt :heh:

not really breh. my daughters are homeschooled. (NF Docs and educational movies :ohlawd:) so I had 2 accounts at one time so we wouldnt bump heads because at the time NF said they were limiting simultaneous streams. (write one off on taxes as educational expense :lolbron:) I only have one account now and we dont bump heads but its nice to know that if I needed, I could bump up to 4 streams for only $4 more. they did this because people were sharing anyway between the 2 streams. if its a movie night and you have two brothers and they each have fams of 5, thats 10 people watching off one account. NF cant really stop that without cannibalizing their own business model. less eyes still = less $$$

You must be sharing your account w heavy Netflix viewers to need all those simultaneous streams. I share my password w my in-laws, but they dont watch it much and they're not computer savvy so signing up on their own and managing an account would be an issue for them.

I need my blu-rays tho. :takedat:

No sharing... I got 2 kids each with a tablet and 3DS. I got a PS3, WDLive, and other crap... I can go through all 4 streams with my household alone.
It can be late night and the kids each watch something, i can put some crap on for the wife and I can be watching my own crap... And besides its only a 4 dollar increase and since i dropped the blu-ray option it stil cheaper for me ...

I thought i needed blu-rays but I always buy them and i always forget i have them out and be keeping them for 3 and 4 months (i'm glad they changed that policy)

How many kids you got ..

You can up to 4 streams and write off half
(or even the entire)
as educational expense. Thats what i do for my cable/internet/telphone bill

....this

smart move on NF's part. honestly, I dont fukk with Blu Ray like that anymore since NF has 1080p streams. Is Blu Ray better PQ? of course. Is it worth paying for? Not to me. I have a large BD collection. About 4 years ago I went around buying all the BDs I could find on sale and got some great deals. Once NF and Hulu improved their PQ, I felt that shyt was not even a necessity and stopped cold turkey. The only BDs I have bought in the past year have been 3D ones. Avengers, Man of Steel, and some animated shyts like Cloudy With Chance Of Meatballs and some others that I got for like $8. Dont get me wrong, there is still demand for physical media....but trust and believe its catchin a fade from digital.
