This was a weak year for HBO.
No.
Yes, there was no Westeros and that's bad.
But!
We still got Last of Us, even if it wasn't the show everyone wanted.
Pitt = Drama of the Year
Hacks = Comedy of the year.
A very good murder mystery in Task.
A good film noir show in Duster, even though it was canceled.
A Gilded Age that raised the states to near Game of Thrones levels.
A new comedy in the Chair Company that might be halfway decent.
We still have the It prequel, the Rachel Sennott LA comedy, and a reworking of Dangerous Liasion with the Glenn Close/Sarah Michelle gellar character taking a more active role instead of the John Malkovich/Ryan Phillippe pov.
We got movies from Warner Bros and A24.
Apple had its usual hits and misses.
Amazon fell off from last with Gen v becoming cliche.
Hulu did ok.
Showtime meander about as usual, with the Taylor Sheridan shows picking up the slack.
Peacock had strong year, good enough for second.
