HBO Oz Appreciation/Unappreciation Thread

[Kill Dat Noize]

This was inspired by the Kareem Said thread that was posted not long ago. I figured this would be a good time for all the Oz fans to crawl out the woodwork and share their thoughts as a whole.

Reason I say appreciation/unappreciation is because I don't think I've ever seen a show that was as amazing as it was just flat out ridiculous. For every time the show made you go it would be immediately followed by a moment that would make you go . The writing was just so fukkin terrible at times and you never knew when it was gonna rear it's head. It would come when you least expect it and when it did there was no stopping it. Some of the events that transpired were so inconceivable and void of logic that I don't think I'd be reaching when I say there were times when Oz displayed some of the worst writing of ALL TIME.

But beyond that the best thing about the show though were definitely the characters and how they were all so supremely acted. To try and come up with a favorite wouldn't even be fair.

So many beast characters .

So many classic confrontations.

So many blood feuds.


Who else loved this clusterfukk of a show????

Im waiting for the show to go on Netflix. I've told a few ppl here that i regret not watching it & the Wire...Well also cause i was a bit too young to be watching Oz. But still, i want to watch it cause i hear all the time it was one of HBO's greatest of their series.

And i forgot the BEST reason i NEED to watch:

Chief Boden was on it.

Appreciation/Unappreciation is the perfect title for this thread. The show started in amazing form and then just descended into pure chaos.

It got wack after the mid season finale of season 4.

Way too many great characters killed off too early or just killed off for the hell of it.

They should redo the show and make it more realistic. I was watching that instead of the wire back in the day
