Based on the first two episodes, I'd say the step father. He has the most to gain out of her death, and he showed no remorse when hearing the news/observing the body.
He probably also had a key to get into the house.

Im suprised nobody is mentioning the black dude that ran up on shorty when Nas was in the store lol I always assumed it was him
When I seen his inhaler in the bed.....this dude has had so many FML moments in just two episodes. Picked up the knife but left the inhaler in the bed with the victim

the mortician? everyone has mentioned him. they made him seem like an ominous figure, but she threw a lit cigarette near a gaspump. he said "want to be my next client" or whatever as a warning for her dumb decision, yet people run with that and say "omg, he killed her!" that's pretty friggin dumb imo. if that somehow ends up being how it plays out, i'm giving the writing too much credit.

Police stations are just like that. My car got broken into in Manhattan and when filing a report they took their sweet time. Stopping to talk to other cops about their vacations and all types of other fukkery. And you can't say jack.
