By now, everyone not living in total isolation knows that HBO has announced plans to offer content streaming in 2015 with no TV subscription requirements. Many wonder what took HBO so long to make this transition. Some speculate that the growing unpopularity of ISP giants has shifted bargaining power in HBO's favor. Others say that it's purely maths; there are more cord-cutters and more people willing to shell out money for specific content, as evidenced by Netflix surpassing HBO in earnings this year "despite Netflix having a smaller customer base". Whatever the reason, all are expecting this development to induce "more content providers to make their shows more readily available online".

also, even if I didn't have the HBOGO password, I would simply download what I want off them torrents regardless. but it's principalities to this shyt. I want more competition with cable companies, and HBO/netflix/amazon/hulu all fighting it out for my hard earned dollars is nothing but more :win: for me and you as consumers.

hell, I feel no remorse taking movies, tv shows, music, and everything else under the sun off these torrents when I'm already paying like $175 a month for internet and cable services every month :ucku:

They need to open up the Real Sports archives. Its a shame they have every episode of damn near every series but there are no Real Sports archives.

If I could just get hd quality live sports Id go all stream
More specifically, as a Knickfam, if I could stream HD quality basketball...with MSG commentating (Walt Frazier...if you don't know, I feel sorry for you.) then I'd throw Cable in the bushes..

shyt...I also love NY1. Damn, I wish I could get that too...then I'd be straight.

Outside of boardwalk empire and game of thrones they don't have anything I watch...problem is I have HBO, Cinamax, Showtime, Starz because each channel has a show I watch but I usually only catch episodes on demand or dvr very rarely live.

I'm contemplating throwing all excess cable except sports and the package that I'd need to get that in the bushes and just purchasing stuff off Amazon or downloading it.

Imagine if this includes Cinemax....Showtime comes out with something similar to hang with HBO...then all I'd have to do is find a cable package to watch my local sports teams. It'd be a wrap.

anything is possible. especially since HBO owns cinemax. showtime owns the movie channel. and starz owns encore.
