She wasn't wrong and was the rightful heir to throne. They never really gave us a concrete reason for her banishment except that Odin found Jesus and decided that he didn't want to be an interdimensional warlord anymore and threw away his preferred weapon for conquest.

Hela really didn't want to fight her brothers. They started the shyt. Thor threw his hammer at her and for what? She showed alot of restraint because she could have easily killed them both. Even when she made it back to Asgard she really didn't want to massacre that army. They forced her hand. She was very reasonable. Odin tried to rewrite history. He could have shown her more sympathy and patience like he did for her brothers. All 3 of them are just alike

She was Asgards rightful ruler and she was done so dirty.

He basically did. She was banished somewhere without her powers just like Thor, she just never learned humility to be redeemed. Her banishment and lack of power was dependent on him repressing her powers and once he died nothing was holding her back from returning.

His plan was instead of banishing him, give him something else to fight for and sent him to earth.
