Those tourist helicopters have terrible safety records. There’s virtually no safety oversight from the city. Just awful.

Isnt this the second time that a helicopter crashed in the water around manhattan in broad day in the last 3 years ? Only difference was it was on the hudson side and not the east river like the last time. Ironically, the other day, i saw that the families of the victims of the helicopter crash in the east river got a 5 million from a wrongful death law.

I remember doing ocean survival training and part of it involves escaping from a helicopter crash. They put you in a big cage with 3 other people, flip that shyt and you need to make it to safety.

I can only imagine how scary that is in the real world and I can say with confidence nobody is surviving a helicopter crash.

Maintenance is a huge part, but really the flight hours and experience of knowing what to do when something goes wrong. You don’t always know what kind of pilot you’re getting in the civilian space
