It wouldn't have worked. These beats sound like Clipse records. I can't hear 2006 Jay Z over these beats. Would've ended up sounding like MCHG before MCHG.
I'm not sure what was going on with Pharrell for these to be conceived with Jay in mind. Jay's records with The Neptunes were always these happy, breezy, jazzy type beats. HHNF was dark. I don't even see the production on HHNF as experimental, but more like "Virginia" and "I'm Not You" from Lord Willin. It was all dark and skeletal.

Jay fukked up but I also agree with @JustCKing that a lot of the Hell Hath records don't sound like Jay records.
Hell Hath is such a crazy album. I been on a Clipse kick all month. There's still nothing like this album that sounds like it before or since. Classic shyt.
