How long did you work there?
Two weeks.
Enough for me to not want to really work there but support from a distance.
Their offices were in Midtown Manhattan and more or less I was on the fundraising division.
We had a diverse staff but they leaned way too hard on promoting LGBT causes. While I have no problem with LGBTs, they went harder on that campaign than they did with their Anti-Racism. They put me and the few black people there on the LGBT rights team. I wanted to do the Anti-Racism fundraising team. They just had a bunch of bleeding heart white liberals do that...cause I guess other white people would listen to them. Very few people would actually engage the other black dudes on the staff. It was kind of a depressing job to be honest. It made realize alot of people don't want shyt to change, they think they can just throw some money at a serious problem and that solves everything. Nah. Just seeing how other black people would ignore us on the streets and look at us like "what are you doing here?". Just seeing how fake white people are in real life and how full of shyt most are.
More people care about LGBT causes than black people and the livelihood of non-whites.
That's what I got from it.
In all honestly, fukk SPLC.
Most of the staff was just gay white men and lesbian whites and asians.
I was like the only 30 something on the staff.
But of millenial tryhards working there.
But then again the SPLC is not located in NYC, they just have an office in NYC through Grassroots Organizations.
That's funded every year from liberal white donors.
They have no obligations to end racism.
They don't want to.
That's why this hatemap project backfired.
They tracked down all these groups.
Yet they still managed to proliferate
Cause it was filled with a bunch of fluffy duffy idealistic white liberals that have no semblance of what it's like to not be a daffy privileged white person.
Now the problem got bad and the SPLC looks like a joke now.
FEDs, CIA, DEA, whatever should of cracked down on them back then...with the information they acquired.
Instead they just watched as the number of groups grew from less than 500 in 2008 to almost 1000 in 2017
More proof that white silence is violence.
