this is exactly what i mean, uncharted was extremely linear compared to tomb raider. fukka set pieces, give me something that i can really explore.
uncharted 2 was a great game but its still 2009 gameplay compared to 2013 gameplay. never touched the online on TR, and uncharted 2-3 probably provides the superior experience. but TR single player had a great campaign that shouldn't be denied just because of some fanboyism. uncharted 3 story was ass in comparison
This is like saying "Crash Bandicoot is extremely linear, fukk a obstacle, give me 3d worlds."
There's
NOTHING wrong with linear games. Linear games is a design choice, not some set back done because that's what was possible at the time.
That's that stupid modern "Open world or die" nonsense I hate. Open world games doesn't automatically make a game better. Give me a beautifully paced game with amazing replayability and fun over some boring cookie cutter open world game. What the fukk do you do in Tomb Raider?? Look for boxes with notes in it??
Bayonetta 2 was the best game last year and it was linear..

Burnout 3 Takedown was better than paradise.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 was better than Tony Hawk Underground.
Donkey Kong w/e is better than Donkey Kong 64.
Open world didn't make Watchdogs any better.
Open world games are overrated. It's such a weak critique of games that don't have them. So what?? If the game is good, it's good. Making it open world doesn't mean it's better. It has to be done correctly. Most open world games are vast spaces of nothingness with boring side quests e.g. SOM and shyt.
Batman Arkham Asylum>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Arkham City. AC was way too damn cluttered and overwhelming.
