His unpopularity is current and consistent...his job approval rating ranges in the 35-40% average (GWBs ended around 33%)
And nah, the "No Trump" speil didn't work with Hillary and it won't work when DeBlasio uses it either. For starters 99% of the country doesn't even know who he is. Clinton has a dynasty, name-brand appeal and a SuperPAC unlike any other and she got man handled by nearly every demographic, including the ones that she supposedly had in the bag.
And the lesson is clear--too far left will equal an automatic loss. Dems gained nothing in this election. The House, Senate and Presidency are all controlled by the GOP now. People don't fuk with extreme left politics like that--and DeBlasio is an extreme leftist.
Enthusiasm had nothing to do with it...Hillary had everybody but Black Jesus come and vouch for her...and none of it worked. And He's definitely NOT part of the Democrat elite establishment, not by any means...Joe Biden is too old for starters...and second there is NO WAY he would add an amateur like DeBlasio on his ticket...99% of the country has no idea who the guy is and they definitely do not run in the same circles.
Guliani was far more known and far more popular than Deblasio and he stood NO CHANCE in the 2008 primaries. NYC mayors are really only famous in NYC, just as the Mayor of London or Paris are only popular in their respective cities, and most people don't know who they are unless they live there.
