He's not perfect, but where does Tariq Nasheed stand with you as a black voice in the media?

I don't think it's bad to adapt to fast processing info. It's positive development for society overall, but we need to be aware of its potential pitfalls as well. If people are just watching agenda-driven, well-marketed documentaries as a primary source of information, they're not going to be getting a healthy understanding of things, particularly topics as complex and nuanced as sociology, race, biology, history, etc. When you say do your research, we're both unaware of the % of watchers do their research after watching it. But we also have to define "research" here because to a lot of people, research is tracing back to their own biased "sources" as opposed to taking a comprehensive look at the matter.

If you learn about group economics through him, cool. Take those jewels and do something with it. Knowledge has no owners. The source of access isn't really important. It's honestly not about him as much as it is people stanning him on some cult-worship shyt. He says some truth and he mixes it in with bullshyt, like any preacher or hustler. But it's important to be smarter, and be able to distill the truth from the extra shyt, unemotionally. Just judging by my observations on the coli, that's not being done much on here.

Some things require more than a few soundbites or sentences to discuss holistically.
So tariq isn't perfect therefore he's the worst thing ever.

Gotcha. :obama:

Tariq doesn't claim to be authoritative or even educated, while Mr Umar Johnson does, which is why I don't mind Tariq. I do think that we need more educated Blacks taking Tariq's approach and polishing it into a better product for Black consumption.

We need less black voices in the media and more black fighters in the streets. fukk the media.

I agree wholeheartedly. Both have their purpose, but I find it funny when people think that "talking" is the best way to solve various issues in the community (or pretend that there aren't men and women working on the ground daily to improve the black community).
