So according to tariq's fanboys he's making a difference to the black community because he's on tv every once in a while? Since when does fame mean anything?
It's shallower than that.
Remember when he was going after Sister Feminista Jones? While Tariq was actually make some sound points, these nikkas here were just cracking on her looks, how she probably sleeps with white men etc.
So in a sense, they actually are more engaged by his put on, outlandish personality (cuz sorry for any of you youngstas, the nikka look sweeter than a damn $1 tea from McDonalds) than his actual input to what he's discussing.
But like I stated before, he's a perfect representation for this generations definition for activism, and interestingly enough all who truly benefit from this is Tariq himself. Not saying the brotha shouldn't eat well, but most of that money is going straight to him and the distributors. The schools closing in Philly ain't getting that shyt. The Charter-school out here in Pullman in Chicago that just opened ain't seeing a dime of it. Hell did he even bother to send a few dollars to Umar Johnson's school?
Again, not saying he can't benefit from the fruits of his "labor", but I'm not acting like the nikka Thurgood marshall or huey newton.
