the blueprint. i wasn't sure, but looked up other albums that came out that year and as far as impact and overall quality go, none of them can compete. stillmatic doesn't even come close and i say that as a nas fan and as somebody who is extremely critical of jay-z.

BP1 is a strong disc... but if it doesnt tie Stillmatic it just barely edges it out. The fact that nikkas are still arguing over the two today means to me theres no clear cut winner which is not indicative of a straight classic

you still can't separate Takeover /Ether from the rest of their respective albums.

The Blueprint sold more, much more critical acclaimed, and it impacted the hip hop and took it to new heights. Hella producers were doing that high pitched r&b sample style once after they heard the Blueprint and a lot more rappers were trying to get beats from Kanye West and Just Blaze.
