Yes, the actual music.

SMH @ the first argument for you clowns putting one album over another always being "sold more" and never which contained the better tracks.
the actual music isn't better on stillmatic. like all of nas album post it was written the production is all over the place. i don't know who picket the beats for illmatic and it was written, but i suspect that it wasn't nas and that he has a terrible ear for beats. with the exception of renegades, the production on the blueprint is flawless and created the sound of an era.

96 (Pac, Roots, Outkast and The Fugees being the competitors)
2001 (no competition)
2003 (Kast & 50)
2007 (Lupe and Kanye)
2011 (Kendrick and Drake)

2001 is obvious, no competition what so ever.

nah, but to be real its been a really horrible year rap album wise.. Born Sinner, Long Live A$AP and The Gifted are my other candidates but i dont feel like any of those albums are better than Magna Carta...

The whole year has been average as far as LP's goes though, my top 5 for the year would include 3 albums that I consider below 4 mics).
1. Ye
2. Asap
3. Earl
4. Jay
5. Cole

And really, cats could shake that top 5 around how they want and I wouldn't be mad, except Yeezus.
And Yeezus was really a "1. you love it 2. It's aight 3. terrible" type of album.

Blueprint was better. Let's not pretend Braveheart Party and Smokin' didn't exist. Ether didn't Febreeze those songs
and if you're gonna judge "impact", then Blueprint wins by a mile, Jay-Z /Nas beef aside.
Hola hovito, jigga that nikka :stopitslime:

The Knights Gambit and Hall of Fame were way better to me.
