I’ve seen that commercial but we never had it in the house. Rich ice cream to us is Haggen Daz ice cream bars and pints.

My grandpa used to buy those giant gallon containers of vanilla ice cream. the basic cheapest stuff you can get. then he would make a strawberry sauce
Grandma would make shortcake, and we would have ice cream with strawberry shortcake.

My dad did the same thing sometimes except he would make milkshakes using the chocolate syrup.
Thats was all i needed as a kid.
