We’re in a knowledge based economy and that’s the way it is.

:yeshrug: Either acquire skills or live in despair.

Greed and selfishness

There simply not enough knowledge based jobs for the general population.

The economy is broken. Any other first World country on Earth can see that, but greedy America.

French Revolution 3.0 is gonna come. People are tired of the excuses.

You’re not kidding. 20 years ago my folks bought a 2700 square foot house with a pool in Orlando for $188,000. That house would cost double that today. How many people can afford that much? Up here I regularly see houses under 1500 square feet that still go over $500,000. 20 miles east to get out of the city and even 1800 square foot houses have $1200+ a month in property taxes. The average car probably cost 70% of what the average car costs today. People used to be able to buy a house large enough to raise a family in with the job they’d get after graduating high school. Now a bachelors and frequently a masters might not get you a job to support the rent on a one room apartment. Let’s not forget the country’s crumbling infrastructure or the environment. This isn’t sustainable. We’re the first generation in maybe 90-100 years to be worse off economically than the one before us. When the bill comes due, it’s gonna be ugly.

I'm telling You, cost of living is extreme

We lost it when they split up years ago, but it’s valued at $375,000 now. I drove past it last month when I was back in town visiting friends and the outside was in pretty nice shape. Houses aren’t too expensive down there. I still look every week or so. The problem is finding a job that’d make it worth it to get back down there. Last search had a 3400 square foot house with 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a 3 car garage and a pool for around $345,000. Nothing like that for less than at least $1.2 million in this city. You found one in lake Nona, right?

Yea right by lake Nona if you get a house in the actual center of lake Nona you paying 400,000+ for a crib. The community is really nice and the homes a northeastern flair to them.

Don't listen to @DEAD7 about anything :upsetfavre:
This is one of a few things I agree with breh on.
I'm in the aerospace industry, several of my coworkers are former military, lots of them are hispanic
and because of the skillset they gained in the airforce, navy or army they're being paid handsomely
in the civilian. And this is with just a highschool diploma and a specialized skillset, once they take
advantage of the Post 9/11 GI bill and/or employer educational benefits.

The potential to increase their salary substantially for these individuals is far higher than someone
coming out of highschool with no skillset and no way real way to gain some besides going to
school or catching a lucky break with a local employer.

And when I say good salary, I'm talking north of $25 an hour, with benefits and substantial amounts of
overtime.

Both my grandfathers brought their houses cash before they were 24 years old. And my grandfathers jobs were being a barber and a mailman. In today’s economy you’d be balling having your own apartment/car/job at 24 let alone having a mortgage.
