Just like taking offense if someone says their comment wasn't meant in a gay way.
so you agree that it's a ridiculous term for anyone who is confidently cemented in their heterosexuality? good.
and given the treatment of homosexuals in the history of the world, i'd say some sensitivity is warranted.
i, on the other hand, have never once been worried about sounding/appearing gay, so i have no use for the term. and like i said earlier, using it implies that you're worried about coming off as gay, which is a totally foreign concept to me.
its more of a locker room joke than anything...like if Hibbert didnt end the sentence with no-homo...im sure the guys would laugh at him in a joking way....which in reality is what no homo is anyways...its a joke.
75k for that is hysterical

yeah i get it. i actually knew dude personally and to my knowledge has never expressed any homophobic thoughts, although it's been a few years
i'm just saying, shielding oneself from being perceived as gay seems defensive. as in something gay dudes in the closet would do, thus making it obvious to everyone that they're gay.
do i think roy is a closet homosexual? no. but he did fukk up by using a term at a press conference that is meant for exactly what you said - the locker room. the 75k to me is more "keep locker room talk in the locker room so we don't have to turn on the PR machine". i'm sure he paid that fine, ASAP and willingly.
He just wants to play devil's advocate. He knows damn well that shyt ain't no slur.
bruh if i say "damn i've been saving money like a jew by only tipping 15%" or "i crashed my car, no chinese lady", it's a slur. it's not earth shattering and it doesn't mean i hate jews or chinese people, but it's implying that those groups are something i clearly dont want to be associated with.
why else would anyone say it? if being gay weren't a "bad" thing to some, the phrase wouldn't even exist![]()
yea man... ok
he has a point...but the no homo thing really doesnt breach any stereotypes really...

No it doesn't, it doesn't at all.
fair enough.
let's just say that someone publicly and consistently (we're talking hypothetically here, obviously, as roy only said this once to our knowledge) proclaims that they're not black/asian/chinese/catholic/republican, et al
wouldn't you assume they had a problem with whatever group of which they were insisting they were not part?
i feel that.im the wrong person to ask because none of those types of jokes offend me...jokes made towards my background, ethnicity, religion dont offend me at all either...i wish more people would get a grip and lighten up
I got fall down drunk last night :noirish:
