I'm looking more to use corporate skills into small business solutions, rather than stealing any business. I want to create a market on my own. I think experience works if you can stick with one company for multiple years and move up, but if you're a person that prefers shorter term assignments (5 years or less), then being credentialed as well as experience becomes very important.
Im just saying you can use their resources to your advantage. My current job pays for bootcamps and there's even a masters degree program. All "FOR THE FREE".
I'm just taking advantage now and then if a better opportunity comes along... bouncing. I learned the hard way that loyalty doesnt pay in this business. I told you my story. Never again :birdman:

@Rawtid ,They're paying for the bootcamp i'm taking at GeorGia Tech right now and that's a $5K class.

But like i said before you can lead the horse to water but cant make him drink. I see some of my coworkers fukking around sometimes. But i cant front i'm struggling too right now even tho instructor tells me im doing well. shyt is rough and we're only 2.5 months into a 6 month program. I have an A so far but that's from staying up late past 2AM many night doing homework and working on projects. And that's not counting the time n class . 3 days a week from 6PM to 9PM Tues, Wed, Thurs.
I'm always tired and dont have much of a social life anymore :mjcry:
But like I said i'm not gonna pass up on opportunities like this since other companies i worked for before wouldnt offer shyt like that.

Yes everything is a sacrifice, but after the 6 months you can celebrate everything you missed. I keep bullshytting but I need to see about the project management training, it's free, which mean the application process is probably some bullshyt. I need to just do it already.

I'm glad I went to an affordable college.

My student loans will be paid off at age 29 for me

I have had a govt STEM career for the past 18 years.
I can say that I long to go back to something simpler...for the people factor.
The nerds and geeks I work with are not normal humans.
There's something...missing...wrong...and I definitely don't fit in with them.
I'm like that mothafukka Parker Lewis...while they're all Steve Urkels.
I need to be around other people with personality and a soul.
This place is draining the life outta me...
I don't know if ehe money is worth it anymore...I need connections...humanity...feeling...
I need to be around regular people again.

PMP was the first cert I had to experience. Company forced every Project Manager to take it.
I hated it...and failed it by 2 points. Company wanted me to retake it, I declined.
I wasn't planning on staying there much longer.
Eventually left the company to pursue my current career track.
Then I started getting IT Certs...
That PMP cert was kindergarten shyt compared to all the IT certs, Army certs and Security certs I've had to get.
:wow:

If you're of any aptitude and have the LEAST amount of interest...you will pass that PMP test easily.

Awwww so ya'll the type that need to be coddled? Cant just show up , make your money and bounce? You need your friends around you?

And im not saying you shouldnt want to be somewhere where you are comfortable with the staff youwork with but GTFOH
I've encountered a$$holes in every job/industry ive worked in and trust me when i say the tech industry is by far the most humane ones.
  • I worked for a Real Estate business that owned duplexes renting out to mostly poor immigrant community. Often would neglect these properties for months on end because they knew these poor immigrants who barely spoke english didnt know any better nor their rights as tenants. I'm talking about air conditioning and/or Refrigerator not working FOR MONTHS and he didnt bat an eye. IN THE HOT TEMPERATURES OF MIAMI, FL.
  • Worked win the airport and seen a$$holes go through people's bags taking personal items like childrens toys and even womens underwear. Let's just say next time your woman travels and checks her bag. She might wanna keep her panties out of the checked bags. Or else Ernesto's saliva might be all up in her coochie when she puts them on
  • WOrked in the Cruise line industry and seen how they treat their employees that they recruit from small poor countries to be servers. There is a reason why many of these cruise lines are american companies but the ships dont call some international port "home". That way they can treat their employees like shyt working them for up to 24 hours with no breaks. Be kind to you little philipino server next time you popping champagne on your cruise.
  • Was in the army and seen the absolute worst of the worst. Mofos bragging about raping women and all out in the open. So next time you see a scandal involving US troops abroad involving women and you think you need to give them the benefit of the doubt on some "support the troops" type steez... think again.
I can go on and on and i cant even mention some of the shyt ive seen more coworkers not from tech industry do when i dorked for Sprint. Sales people from any industry might be the worst. If you think tech people lack souls look at sales teams from trucking companies or even technology sales. THere is a special hole in hell reserved for sales people IMO

I'm a carpenter and did a lil cursory research on this because I've been seeing more and more stuff out there about automation and how it will impact the workforce.

if you're in any of the skilled trades then you are probably going to be ok. unless they make improvements by exponential leaps and bounds with the capabilities of robots, jobs requiring manual dexterity and the ability to deal with constantly changing conditions and variables are going to be safe.

I've done finish work, concrete, wood and metal framing, drywall, and a lot of other things that fall under the umbrella of carpentry and tbh I don't see a robot replacing a human being. I'm sure there's a litany of tasks that come with being in HVAC, being an electrician, plumber, pipe fitter, etc and there's no way no how there are going to be robots that are just gonna be able to hop in and be able to do them.

While a machine cannot currently assemble temporary equipment or estimate materials needed for a project, machines can order construction materials and equipment, apply material to surface, mix substances, review blueprints, and perform other tasks that humans now complete .Roofers, electricians, carpenters, and plumbers will see less automation taking over their jobs because those tasks require human labor to solve unique challenges in uncertain environments. However, construction jobs that include running equipment, such as operating engineers, will have a higher risk of automation as AI-controlled machines start to routinely perform repetitive tasks within the next few decades

they can't even make self driving cars that don't hit Black people :heh:

to keep it real......

Most 18 year olds just wanna party, get high/drunk and fukk on some hoes.

nikkas just go to college to make mommy and daddy proud.

Most dont have a plan.

Most will die in debt with nothing noteworthy to pass down.

I dont blame them... My OGs gave me the same speech since I was like 12... "College OR ELSE"

I gave the middle finger to both my parents & college.

Some go to college with a plan and succeed... But most are being finessed becuase of what their parents are telling them and will die in debt.

Its sad.

And it seems that my generation is gonna grow up and tell their kids the same BS... "College OR ELSE"

It is what it is....... People are gonna go with whats familiar.

Bars ...:ehh:
