r.i.p. to the kid

A big problem with a lot of injury occurrences is kids being taught wrong, not having proper technique. All my life I was coached you put your hat (helmet) on the side the ball is being carried, wrap, and drive. It wasn't until I got to high school where coaches were actually coaching kids to lead tackles with their head by putting your helmet into the opponents chest/upper body area, then actually got mad when you didnt follow their direction :heh: That's when I had to toss playing football in the bushes, my trajectory wasn't pro level anyway so what do I look like going out and breaking my neck or worse.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
I was just replying to the comment that here aren't racing leagues for youth. My main point was that we keep hearing talk about football going away, being banned, drastically changed or whatever when these injuries are discussed but never with auto racing when it seems like somebody dying every year and even fans getting hurt. Even a legend like Dale Earnhardt died on the track but no talk of ending the sport. That's like Peyton Manning dying on the field.

There are over 1 million high school football players, the reason people keep saying football will go away is because of the fact they're finding brain trauma in HS kids now as well. That is why the racing comparison just doesn't make sense, this is a thread about a HS player dying on the field, not a professional, racing just doesn't affect kids like that.

For every Earnhardt that dies there's 100 former NFL dudes walking around with Parkinson and cloudy memories, had Earnhardt not been killed in a crash he more than likely would have lived a long fairly healthy life, which can't be said about the majority of NFL players when they retire.

I get what you're saying. My position is these facts won't have a significant effect on the sport. Will some parents keep their sons off the field due to these recent developments in the discovery of trauma to the brain? Absolutely. Will so many do it that football will "go away" or be significantly impacted? Hellllllllllllll no.

If parents start holding their kids out of football it will be impacted, unlike the NBA, NHL or MLB the NFL's entire talent pool is in the US.

You'd have to be stupid to let your son play football knowing what we know, and I'm sure the research done in the future will paint an even worse picture.

Imagine getting that phone call that your child died playing a game.
Imagine being the coach and having to explain to the parents what happened and how sorry you are.
fukk man. :mjcry::wow:

:wow:

No doubt a lawsuit will probably be coming to the school.

They gonna be questioning if the coach taught the kids proper tackling skills and all that.

Terrible situation...little breh was probably happy as hell when he got to enter in the 4th. :mjcry:

the #1 sport in America and it is only alive because of fantasy leagues

:wow: u dudes legit dont know shyt bout sports
take fantasy football out and you will lose around 30% of the audience. Why you think the NFL focusing so hard on fantasy now having dedicated shows about it.
