There is definitely a culture that needs to be recognized as part of the problem(we all agreed), but i think what was being said is response to that was; "there's a culture of violence in our inner cities that must be dealt with" is code for "there is a culture of violence among African Americans and they must be dealt with"...

Yeah because the only real solution we see being implemented moving forward, is a war on pigmentation, which obtusely neglects the symptoms of the systematic problem, which is poverty, in many cases it's generational because people are trapped in a cycle where they don't know or see any other options. White gentrification isn't necessary, but living wage jobs are. I guarantee most cats in the streets would rather do a 9-5, if they were able to support their family rather than engage in criminal warfare, that leaves them dead or locked up. Anyone who says otherwise is naive and doesn't truly understand the problem at hand or know the people who are in these circumstances.
