There's one important plot detail from the original High and Low that may not translate to today's world, and I'm glad the trailer plays it straight and doesn't reveal it.
In the original, the kidnapper thinks he has the CEO's kid when he's actually kidnapped the driver's son. So the CEO has to choose between saving his entire wealth or saving the kid.
With social media any criminal who makes that same mistake loses credibility instantly. So Spike has no choice but to either ignore that detail or improvise.
