I think people fighting wildfires, prisoner or not, deserve more than $0.25 cents per hour for life threatening work. Anyone who thinks firefighters deserve $0.25 cents per hour for their dangerous work is an extremist. Prisoners are not subhuman, their lives have value too.

Further, anyone who believes that nonviolent offenders should be held longer for the express purpose of the state being able to use them as firefighting slaves is an extremist. Cruel and unusual punishment and slavery both violate our constitution.
