Trump is real. If you're still waiting for him to fade away, it's not going to happen and that becomes more apparent day by day. You're still buying the conventional wisdom that an establishment candidate has to be the primary winner. That shyt is out the window now. With the internet and social media, people are not dependent on the television to get their message out, nor the blessing of party power brokers. The GOP establishment has been trying to stop Trump and Cruz since day one with no success.

It's probably going to be Trump or Cruz. It definitely will not be Jeb....zero chance. If somehow an establishment candidate turns the tide and comes out, it will be Rubio. Jeb is a cadaver.

Come on man. You think I haven't thought about the young GOP voters. Yeah you got your dumb hicks that will vote for Trump white males aged 25-35 in southern states. What about the other 50% of the white male population? Are they gonna vote for this tupee mother fukker? The thing is you are under the impression that because he's White, racist and conservative that they will think he represents them. Trump splits off from the GOP in several key details such as taxes, immigration and defense. The problem with him is his credibility is bad even from a business perspective he's had a terrible history of managing corporations. If they wanted the "Financial/Business" guy they would have gone with Romney. The fact is Romney dropped out willingly and therefore they will hedge bets with either Cruz or Rubio.

Now the problem is Cruz and Rubio both are not popular at all with the people not even a little bit and both of their own constituencies hate them. Rubio and Cruz both cannot get the Black vote AT ALL and it's honestly a question if Cruz can even get the Latino vote. He's basically a White washed Cuban that talks like a WASP. He probably can't even salsa.

Latinos tend to want to vote Republican at the lower levels but they haven't been supporting Republicans at the congressional level for reasons that are very obvious - Only the White washed Latinos generally get to congress I don't know of any Brown people prominent aside from Jindal and he's for lack of a better word CACindian...

JEB is incompetent IMO but if you look at his record he doesn't have too many holes - At least PERSONALLY. His record for FL is actually pretty good when you look at the numbers in terms of high school drop out rates going down, crime and other indicators from last I heard. The main thing he has to defend is his family affiliation. But if his policies and voting have been consistent they will have to try and look into finances which I don't know much about him on. Either way for JEB you have to do the most digging making him the most palatable front runner from a LOGICAL and not an EMOTIONAL perspective. Nobody wants JEB to become even a candidate for the next POTUS even me, because he lacks presence. This is an emotional thing, the reality is the GOP candidate who will qualify CAN NOT be Trump, because he'll have to run as an independent and sever the party in half to get to the ultimate showdown.

You are forgetting there are a number of former GOP voters that are going rapidly independent at an ALARMING pace in traditionally GOP stronghold areas of the country. And much quicker than Dems. If Trump runs as an Independent he will lose - But destroy the GOP in the process. Either way I do not believe GOP will let him win the primary or even stay in the party much longer. Unless they agree to gut themselves from the inside out....

This is not true. I've actually read most of book that covered that '08. None of these candidates are as calculating as you think they are.

Obama ran by chance, at the urging of Harry Reid. I'm not saying he didn't have political aspirations but I don't he thought that election was his time.
:comeon: You read "the" book? There's only one? Lol.

Obama met with wall street and other big business leaders garnering support and cash well before he officially ran for president in 08. This is indisputable fact that has been reported several times over by a variety of source. To cite one, I would suggest you Confidence Men by Ron Suskind where he details such meetings with sources.

But you can think this was all from grassroots hope and change if you want: Top Contributors to Barack Obama, 2008 Cycle | OpenSecrets

Uh, typo much?:comeon: I've read several books, including Game Change.

I never said that Obama didn't receive WS and establishment backing. But that shyt was non-existenet before he proved that he could win. Why don't you provide me with some links about his financial support from 06 and 07. :stopitslime:

As I said earlier, you are still following the false conventional wisdom that these magical gatekeepers of the GOP have the power to choose the nominee and stop Trump if they want to. I used to think the same, but it doesn't work that way.

Yes Trump is divisive, racist, boorish, and toxic to the party. Guess what? It doesn't fukking matter! He or Cruz will still probably win the GOP primary because GOP voters will vote for them and there's nothing anybody in the RNC can do about it.

Uh even though @Mephistopheles is a dikk faced fakkit, he is correct. Obama been getting WallStreet and establishment support since '04 after that DNC speech he gave when Kerry got slaughtered by Bush. How you think he was able to get on the docket for that speech in the first place? His backing didnt just appear in '07

He got backing for his senatorial race. That's no surprise.

I'm still waiting for actual sources that prove that he received backing against Hillary in 06-07 before the Iowa caucuses.

What don't you understand about money being taken away from him and him being disassociated from the party??? He won't be able to run on the Republican ballot or get their backing if that happens.

Yup. People act like Obama hadn't been courting Wall Street pretty much since his 04 DNC keynote speech, meeting with CEOs and getting entrenched with the Dem establishment. His largest campaign donor was Goldman Sachs and he had some really powerful donors and Dems like Ted Kennedy, Bill Richardson, etc. choose him over Clinton.
With that said, a lot of the Democratic establishment did not like him as much as the Clintons. At the same time, Obama came into the Senate and took on Tom Daschel's staff. He always aspired to play an insider's game.
