100% true.

I mean I listen to French drill, I donโ€™t always understand what theyโ€™re saying and it just helps me concentrate on the flow and the beats instead of hearing some demonic method of stabbing an opp

The drill beats are fire and get you amped up

If you trying to get hype to do something itโ€™s good music

But casual listening that shyt is just ADHD music

Pop Smoke music was basically Henessy for you ears. Have you feeling like you can knock a whole room full of nikkas out with nothing but haymakers

90s/Boom Bap rappers didn't present only the death. They told about the downfalls, the Ls. There may be a few exceptions, but there was some semblance of balance and a message. Even the most gangsta rappers would tell you not to do the shyt, or talk about how fukked up the game was.

Also, the artistry and skill levels involed are light years away from each other. 90% of these new nikkas are making the same song over and over.

I don't know about "disrupting the soul" and all that, but these nikkas are almost all ass at rapping, over the most unoriginal, repetitive beats.
Anyone who doesn't get this wasnt born then or ignorant as fukk

The drill convo can't be as reductive as "Old head mad lol" or "It just ain't for me I'm too old"

I stopped listening to drill for a reason. But also Pete Rock has done this type of shyt before without acknowledging previous generations hands in the way things are today

He did something similar criticizing Young Dolph for having a song called Rich Crack Baby while completely glossing over his contemporaries getting rich off lavish crack sale tales

Nikkas hate being preached at ESPECIALLY when the preacher ain't accountable for their own bullshyt
