Benny just dropped something

WSG just dropped an EP

Kendrick shyt isn't even a year old yet

Don't be spoiled by the fact that in the streaming era we get blessed continuously.

Literally just heard that new cut "The Louvre" off Static Selektahs upcoming joint.

Plus I guarantee there's some other people shyt that probably have dropped that flew right under the radar.

This is it right here.

As someone who worked as an A&R forever, I can speak to how important it is/was, at the labels. There's no more development for artists because labels don’t want to pay for it anymore. So they're just putting people out, knowing they'll fail eventually, but they'll just replace them with another artist in two seconds. It's the new model because the money isn't coming in the way it used to.

You don't have a Irv, Dame, Suge, Russell, Diddy or J Prince that use to hit the pavement or understand black artists or even have a wide spread understanding of artist development.

You have mostly people who only understand analytics, Views, Viral moments and digital engagement on Tik Tok in those positions now.

Plus when the majority of hip hop meda covers 97 percent fukk shyt and 3 percent music. What they expect?

It’s not bad, but just wasn’t as good as his last album in my opinion.

And I didn’t like how the pacing of the album was hype mustard track then an introspective track then a hype track then a slower deeper cut.

I don’t know it just was strange to me, but it’s still a good album and none of the songs are individually bad

This might be an even better thread idea because I don’t think I’ve liked any new hip-hop artists since 2017 or 2018. I don’t even remember anyone actually I liked pop smoke.

That might be the last new artist I enjoyed.

I don't think Hip-Hop is in a good state but 1 of the main issues is that listeners aren't really expanding to listen to other artists.

There's plenty of decent music out there if people actually looked for new music.
