There are a lot of Cubans who look pretty much the same as White Americans, though
One thing I noticed about the Cubans i met in real life is that they tend to either be able to pass as Just black, or just white. Not many Hispanic mestizo looking ones.
:childplease: How can you be half black half hispanic?
One black parent, one Hispanic parent.

You have to be pretty damn stupid to think that these two people belong to the same race.

Both are Cuban. The woman is clearly black and Andy Garcia is obviously white.
This is what I been trying say. People don't understand the difference between ethnicity and race

Hispanic is an ethnicity (a cultural/local designation rather than an anthropological one). Latino does not necessarily mean Hispanic. There are many Latinos that do not fit the standards that you've mentioned. That's like saying every "real american" is white just because the majority of the american population is. Latino countries are a product of colonization meaning different nationalities moved to the same countries and boned the fukk out of each other. A combination of races can never make another race.

Your post is nonsense. Hispanic is neither an ethnicity nor a race. Mestizo is not a race either, @Monster . Being Mestizo or part Native does not make one Hispanic either. There are Mestizos in Canada who only speak French. The Canadians call them "Metis".

I just looked up Metis. It's less than 2% of Canada. And only a couple hundred thousand total, just because a group like this Exists, doesn't mean as a whole we shouldn't be our own thing

My point is that even being part Native does not make one "Hispanic". There are such people who don't speak Spanish and have no such heritage. I have no problem with someone identifying as a Hispanic, as you do, but in technical terms a Mestizo is not an ethnicity nor a race.

Did you read the percentages I posted in the OP. if they don't fit into that than they're their own thing.

Only a small handful of people on Earth have native blood. Hispanic is just the word we use now, the word could be something different, so the roots of what the word is doesnt matter to me.

But what's wrong with identifying as Mexican?
