Unfortunately, incidents like this are all too common in Los Angeles and in other major U.S. cities.

In Compton, California, the Los Angeles police department recently expressed concern over the number of attacks on African American families by Latino gangs within the past decade.

Speaking to one particular incident, the Los Angeles Times reported, “A black family — a mother, three teenage children, and a 10-year-old boy — moved into a little yellow home in Compton over Christmas vacation. When a friend came to visit, four men in a black SUV pulled up and called him a racist epithet, saying black people were barred from the neighborhood, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies. They jumped out, drew a gun on him and beat him with metal pipes. It was just the beginning of what detectives said was a campaign by a Latino street gang to force an African American family to leave.”

Where was the father? Or better yet standup men in the area. All those guns on the streets of SoCal and organized gangs and this shyt happens? Difference between Oakland and LA. Chicanos are going to defend their turf, as they should and blacks should defend theirs...like gangs of NY. Thats how capitalism works.

I swear the irony of this thread as got me dying. The bickering and racism in this thread is the same you would find in Latin America. I guess that is how colonialism works. They divide up the lower-classes to make sure they don't have any real power, while the white elite keep getting wealthier. Tribalism is part of it but I feel that social conditioning that keeps both side divided like how they are divided on other side of the border. I only draw these parallels from my experience in Latin America.

Personally I've never witness a lot of animosity from black people as a group or individually but that might just be a SW Houston thing. From what I see both sides live together in peace in the neighborhood and jobs. Of course I could just be wrong and blind to the fact. I think in the SE Latinos and black people tend to be more divided and there is more animosity.

I could be wrong but just my 2 cents.

Maybe it's cause I can look spanish but I'm not. one time this colombian chick was going to bring me into her crib but she tells me to tell her brother I'm dominican because he don't like indians I was like well I'm not about to front for nobody so I'll check you later...a lot of the Spanish dudes were often just wild disrespectful and ready to get rowdy at all times, it just was what it was. I been jumped twice in my life, both were by spanish cats, and both times I was minding my own business.
