This transformation has yet to happen in many Hispanics. A Duke University study in 2006 reported 60 percent of Hispanic respondents felt that few or almost no blacks were hard-working or could be trusted.
In all fairness, and playing Blue Devil's advocate, people who attend Duke are generally from the upper echelon and graduated from prep school. Even the White students look down on average White people. The non-blacks come from high grossing educated homes and are box checkers/minorities on paper only. Knew of one Duke Latino student who said in a room full of proud ones who said he doesnt identify with Latino culture, only for grant money, with no fukks given.

Occasionally there are a few "real" nikkas/stragglers that enter on obscure ass scholarships or few Durhamites who are non traditional students(older or poor/lower middle class) that use their/parent's employment benefits at the hospital for discounted tuition. I lived in the area and there is a term called Duke Black and they are quite different from the NCCU students across town and associate with locals on a need to basis or for community volunteer hours.
