Also the Nazis called themselves the 3rd Reich because the view themselves as establishing the Holy Roman Empire.

The 1st Reich is the Frankish Kingdom under the Carolign-ian dynasty which relates to Karl Magnus(the great aka CharlaMagne).

The 2nd Reich is the Hohenzollern Dynastic rule starts with Wilhelm 1.

And the 3rd Reich though Germany was under the rule of the Nazis, but the ruling House of Germany and Prussia was Hohenzollern and Wilhelm II (he is the last German Emperor). The defeat of the third Reich pretty much marks the defeat of another Royal House.

As I showed in my previous post, it is a real life Game of Thrones. With King n Queens, bishops knights rooks and pawns. Of course We the People are the pawns (foot soldiers) in their Great Game...

Yeah, but they didn’t win. Moreover, the imperial Germans were poor strategists and tacticians.

If they were so poor on tactics and strategy, it would not have taken France, Great Britain, Russia, and the US, 4 years to push them back within their borders.

And the humiliation they gave France in the 1870 war also tells me they weren't so poor on that ground.

I never been that interested in history outside of Ancient history but I’ve been doing more reading. I always assumed Germany was the aggressor because they were in WW2 but, I don’t know brehs. The heir to the throne of Austria gets murdered in broad daylight in Serbia because the Slavs there didn’t like being under Austrian rule. The Austrians want revenge but they can’t get it because Russia is backing Serbia and will level Austria to rocks and pebbles. So Austria turns to Germany for help. It would’ve just been a battle between these four places. But France was allied with Russia. Now it’s a two front war with Germany and Austria boxed in between Russia and France on both sides. Germany tries to go all out on France to get them out the paint first so they can focus on Russia but Britain comes into the fight because Germany threw shots at Belgium in their attempts to fight France. And they got slaughtered.

I’m just trying to imagine this in modern day. If somebody killed Prince William or Prince Harry, the world would be on fire the next day. Why was it cool for them to murder their prince, have Russia protect them from getting dealt with and then have the rest of the world gang on Germany and Austria like they were in the wrong :dahell:
Simple they lost.

So you think it was 4 against 1?

Also Germany's strengths were and are in focus of purpose and precision not in dynamic invention.

Germany was (and is) the largest, in terms of population, wealthy country in Europe. Greater Germany (including the original bounds of Prussia) was significantly larger than modern day Germany.

Now is a really good time to study WW1. A lot of the driving factors that lead up to it are in play now. Early 1900s there was a push for hyper Nationalism, protectionism and isolationism. It created a lot of red lines to be crossed. Eventually one of them was.

We’re seeing that today w Brexit , and far right nationalism take hold in Europe once again. The ruling class forcing austerity rule instead of helping its people. Tell them the reason they’re struggling is because of people that don’t look like you and who have last names that sound different than yours. All to deflect from that austerity needed to keep the ruling class rich and in power.

History doesn’t repeat itself, but it rhymes all the time.
