I fukk with Hittman's music, but what he's saying kinda applies to damn near everybody.

Who focuses as much on others as they do themselves? No one. You know what you get when you get in the studio with Dre. It's his label, but it's your career. At the end of the day, none of us should expect the next man to share the same level of passion for our work as we do. That's not that man's job. Eve was on Aftermath initially and got shelved, but kept grindin' and ended up selling millions of records and winnin' Grammy's under an entirely different umbrella.

If Dre ain't giving you the push that you want from him, that's his right. But I don't get why cats live and die on the approval or co-sign of one person. If he's not fukkin' with it, then move on and find some people that will. Who gives a fukk about what Dre gets behind? LOL!! Somebody else'll love that shyt!

I think you are missing hitmans point . Hitman and others were obviously under the aftermath umbrella, it would only make sense that Dre would be helpin them with albums.

Manny Fresh pumped out albums for everybody on CMR in the early days. Juve, wayne, bg, big tymers, unlv even Turk got a look.

Dre was lazy breh and relied on a significant amount of help from other inside and outside producers

Dre is a weird dude. If he was really a genius he'd be churning out records like No Limit in their prime. Master P dropped more albums in 1 month than Aftermath has in 2 years.

Good point! but the only different is that Dre got a bunch of talents rappers....he wastes their time for real. Aftermath would be the biggest label of all time with all these talents you got?....

At the same time, Master P basically is on his own, which mean independent label so Dre is under his boss, Jimmy's Interscope. Master P was a smart business man ever.

them AFTERMATH sessions were probably like a scene from WEEKEND AT BERNIES

Bunch of Hot groupies show up to the studio screaming. .... "we wanna see DRE!!" :noah:

And Hittman and Mel Man are escorting his lazy corpse inside the studio like :patrice:

Bingo!! I've always said this. Dre could have capitalized even more off of his name musically. The nikka could have dropped a hell of a lot more albums on aftermath.

All he had to do was attach his name. Imagine if he signed kurupt and daz, all he had to do is say Dr Dre presents..... Or produced by and any album he dropped would have sold like crazy

At it's peak there was no machine bigger than Interscope. In it's prime Interscope was 5x as powerful as Priority records and look what Master P was able to do with Priority. There were No Limit billboards everywhere I looked back in 97-98. Dre be bullshytting.

SINY!!
Its equal parts being lazy and lost faith in his abilities to make hit records. He set the bar so high for himself, which is why we will probably never see Detox. In his mind its not good enough. If you think about it, with the exception of a few tracks here and there post-2001 it seems he's either mailed it in completely, given artists throwaways and/or done minimal work and had other producers fill in the blanks.

Its also up to the artists to keep working to maintain that buzz once they get it. Look at a dude like Game....after Documentary, he didn't wait to kiss and make up with Dre....he took his career into his own hands and succeeded without him.
