Really though.

What's the point of denying this? I don't really get what's advantageous about ignoring what's clearly an important issue. Obviously logic and scientific consensus isn't a factor since people believe what they want to believe. It is some sort of conservative litmus test? Are people really willing to screw over future generations of humans just because they're scared their taxes might increase a little or something? Is it just to be anti-liberal? Do they believe it's irrelevant because Jesus is about to return? Enlighten me.

People who don't believe in climate change, please share your emotional motivations for this, I honestly don't get it.

Were you not around for climate gate which shows scientists screwed with data to get more funds? Also the motivation is to prevent an overreach of control from the government who will infringe on freedoms for things that are no where near concrete proof or evidence. Cafe standards have already increased the prices of all vehicles

Whoaa...I was just about to make this exact same thread, "Why do people want to deny global warming?"

Whats funny is, if ur from the South, talk to any older person and they'll always say stuff like, "back when I was growing up, it wasn't quite this hot in the summer"...."or our winters were alot colder than what they are now" Or they may even say the completel opposite....point being, there's clearly a difference over time.

Climate gate was proven to be a farce. And conservatives are usually OK with government infringing on freedoms as long as national security is the rationale(Patriot act, homeland security etc.). Climate change is a national security issue. Read what a few generals have written about it.

They already admit it shows scientists in bad light and their credibility has been damaged when the theory itself has been on shaky ground and never solid enough to warrant the increased costs that the government is asking for

So the issue is economic infringement to you. Why take the short-term view and not the long-term view? It doesn't concern you that your children and their children will probably have to bear a greater economic burden because of your short-term interests?

there is no proof that those long term claims are going to happen. Nothing concrete has ever been layed out in fact 30 years prior there was talk of an ice age
