take it easy. First off I was NOT comparing the 2 beats. Where did I say that ? lol . I just said that sometimes less is more and I drew that example.Stay focused friend. We're talking about this beat, not comparing it to others. Theres a lot going on in still dre to even think of comparing these 2 beats. There are Way more tracks in still dre compared to this beat. Still dre is not as simplistic as you think it is. It was very professionally mixed with different aspects.
The sample for THIS song is not powerful enough to not have a strong bassline. This is like like the bottom of good samples. Its just enough. Thankfully the song is short which helps strengthen it. Its not a song you could listen to for 4 minutes. He knew that which is why the song is short.
While I'm pretty sure THEY ARE more tracks in Still Dre. It doesn't mean it's not a minimal beat (to me at least). Having alot of tracks and layers doesn't make a beat complex.
Also you say the sample is not powerful enough, so what exactly is a powerful sample and define the attributes of one
