Anyone who legitimately hates Sting either didn't watch his early 90's WCW shyt or is kind of a faq. He wasn't carried by Vader or Flair or really anyone.. he more than held his own. He was crazy athletic and strong as a muthafukka.

It's true that he was never a consistent draw but neither was Punk. Neither was Shawn Michaels. There are a select few in North America who truly drew well over a number of years.

I wasn't referring to him being carried IN RING like workrate, i mean that HE got hot because he was facing HOTTER HEELS. Whos the biggest heel today? Brock? HHH?...if for some reason they started booking BROCK and Trips as LEGIT SCARED of zach fukkin ryder; yeah, zach ryder would get over as hell. Now, sting > zach ryder, but thats my point.

Okay, I see what you're saying but all you are really saying is that he benefitted from Hogan and Flair and maybe Vader though I would argue Sting was just as over as Vader during their feud. Those are the elite. Nobody has ever tried to say that Sting is on Flair or Hogan's level but if you listen to TSC in general a lot of people like to forget how others benefitted from similar situations. Sting was on an island in WCW at one point until the roster got really fukking good in '92..

Compare it to Shawn Michaels when he was the company ace in WWF. The company was in the toilet. It wasn't really his fault though.. there was nobody else. Bret was taking time off etc.. all of a sudden HBK gets red hot with Austin. My point isn't to shyt on HBK because he's one of the greats.. my point is that nobody can carry a company on their back except a select few like Hogan. Sting doesn't deserve the hate.

I love Sting, but I'd hate to see him sign with the WWE. Personally I think it's cool that he's the one star from the Monday Night War era that became a legend in the business without having to do business with the WWE.

Nah, TSC hates bryan fans for their hyprocracy and inconsistancy. Nobody who ISNT BLATANTLY TROLLIN dislikes daniel bryan; the raw and ppv threads prove this when he's wrestling.

I don't like Bryan, and I've never trolled on this board. I just don't find him to be entertaining

i only liked cena as the heel who would come out and freestyle...but no, you don't have to like anyone. i could sit here and say the same exact shyt about hogan. everyone knows both of them were never impressive wrestlers in the u.s.(we all know about hogan's time in japan so please miss me with that), but the whole point is you could do that with anyone. people sitting there trying to revise history is who i have a problem with. i watched it with my own eyes...i'm pretty sure i know who did what and where.

A lot of us who like or respect Sting remember him from when we were kids. Pretty much the ultimate babyface back then, and unless your parents fukked up, you probably liked babyfaces as a kid. And he was pretty damn good at the job.

He was the right choice to lead the fight against the NWO because he represented everything that WCW was all about and that was what the NWO was trying to kill.

Could others have played that role and gotten over? Yeah. But it wouldn't have had the same impact as Sting had, because he was literally that company's top babyface for years at the time the NWO hit the scene.

Sting transitioning to the Crow gimmick made the whole NWO storyline seemed like a bigger deal; when the ultimate babyface felt the need to go to the darkside, shyt just got serious.

Sting just was never that good; being the babyface to the biggest heel faction of all time kind of helps your legacy. He was carried by the best heels of all time; nWo, Vader, Cactus Jack, Rude, and many other wrestlers could've filled that spot at the time.

Wish I could get a time machine to see Vader dropping out the rafters with the mastodon mask

Sting is like that musician/band you loved as a kid because you were a dumbass child and didn't know any better, but as an adult can't name any of their songs because they really weren't as good as people said they were. Meanwhile, they're playing concerts in bingo halls and malls while people claim they're a legend but the reality is that they haven't done anything relevant in 13 years.

I might be the biggest WCW mark in the world. Hell I even watched TNA because it was WCW lite for a while. Such a mark, that I prefer Tony Schiavone to Jim Ross as he's responsible for some of my favorite wrestling moments. That said:

1) Sting doesn't suck, but he's way overrated and really the reason the NWO lost steam. I know it ran for like 2 years but could've ran longer (or had a better ended) if they actually had a legit force on the other side that was considered "cool." Sting sucks on the mic and was never considered cool by anyone.

2) As a lone entity, DDP would've been better as the WCW savior than Sting.

3) If they wanted a group, the Horseman (Flair, Anderson, Benoit, Malenko) could've done just as well if given the Sting build. (I know they had a program). Could've also been used to build up Benoit and Malenko.

4) Sting is just like Bret Hart, safe but nothing spectacular. He's like Cena without the (negative) energy.

nobody left in WCW being competent to stand up to the NWO is the reason you had all those resulting horrible booking decisions. after Starcade, nobody cared about Sting, because in reality, nobody ever really cared about Sting.
