The only annoyance that any of ya'll said that I feel has any real weight of merit to it is how the currency of the tools work. That gets that much more annoying that when fighting bosses, the minions don't drop any currency at all, not even that and that you can't refill your tools outside of on benches and only when you have that shards to do so. That and that they take quite a bit, if you die constantly during boss fights or gauntlets, you will be short of them really quickly.

All the other complaints, like level design/platforming segments, teleports, enemy design, benches-to-rosarie costs, etc., sounds more git gud status than being that egregious to me.

This isnt harder than Hollow Knight imo, and most bosses are way more beatable on your first try than a Souls game. I have 2 of the songs in Act 2 and have done a good amount of side stuff and its a solid challenge but nothing crazy.

Exactly, game isn’t “hard” per se, it just had a ton of annoying little design quirks that make a lot of sections more tedious than fulfilling.

Id say stuff like elden ring or lies of p was harder but didn’t feel as frustrating.

I like Lies of P but its cheap as sh1t lol. No way you can beat those bosses on your first try without a cheese build, their attack timings are usually very unnatural and require memorization.

Yeah lies of p is a harder game than this, especially the dlc

I actually don’t think the bosses in this game have been very hard. It’s just the run back and having to go through specific enemies that add to the challenge.

The challenge rooms have been more difficult than any of the bosses so far

People keep complaining about hard ass runbacks, one of the biggest examples is the last judge runback. I get there and the runback is 30 seconds max, with a single enemy in the way.


Im 30 hours in and haven't come across a single bad runback.

Long Runbacks in general is just simply lame game design

I haven't seen anything I'd consider a long runback. It seems like people are acting like long runbacks are a major problem when in reality there's probably 1 long runback.

People even bring up the bilewater runback as the worst, which has a hidden bench to cut the runback in half.

The splinter boss for example has no enemies on the run back, but has some platforming spikes to go over, and it's just tedious

Boss runbacks have been mostly out of gaming for a reason

The sister splinter runback wasn't hard or tedious, neither was the boss if you use the beast crest, which shreds her vines and minions.

Once you unlock the elevator, its 2 rooms to reach the boss, shouldn't take you more than a minute. And the platforming is easy, most of the people complaining about the platforming aren't using the float ability which makes platforming a cake walk.

There were worse runbacks in the first game, I haven't experienced a single runback as hard as soul master from the first game.

If you wanted a game to hold your hand, this aint it.

None of these runbacks yall bring up are harder than shyt from the first game.

Maybe you're just terrible at the game and should give up, cause if you're familiar with the first game, none of this shyt should be an issue.

"Shouldn't take more than a minute" stop dying to easy ass bosses and it wouldn't be an issue. I beat that bytch in 4 tries, get gud.

I’m good at this game and im progressing just as quickly as everyone else in this thread, I’m deep in act 2.

Those things are still annoying and the epitome of bad game design in 2025
