Going back through and trying to finish everything. I know I saw that there's a third act but I didn't look up how to unlock it yet.
But has anyone done the delivery quest to the guy in the citadel? shyt is a journey and it's time based.

Just a heads up, you can beat the game without unlocking Act 3. So, if you want the full game, you gotta do a lot of shyt like beating all the wishes, moving the flea caravan to the final area, get your house, beating Lace the final time etc.

Those things are still annoying and the epitome of bad game design in 2025
To the contrary i think it’s great game design, and something games have run away from because people don’t like resistance in their games.

like, making through hunters march sucked.

Some of those enemies felt too difficult for simple grunts. Had to go back through that section more times than i’m willing to admit. Got frustrated and wondered why the hell they set it up like that.

Then i made it to the Lace fight, and i realized all that frustration was training. And the frustration turned into me feeling powerful and triumphant.

Few games have cohesive game design like this, I’m glad a few of them still don’t do all the handholding people seem to love :ehh:

To add to that, a lot of the reason that even the grunts pose extra challenge is intentionally so that you have to be actively engaged in playing the game to do well at pretty much all times. If you're actually playing efficiently, your effectiveness in killing the grunts won't be much of a hassle either, as you level up. But they'll still pose enough resistance, that if you're just playing in a run-of-the-mill, by-the-numbers fashion, it'll feel arduous.

I'm not sure how many crests there are in the game, nor how many charms. But I currently have 5 crests and they all have so much nuance on how you can set them up and how they are set up at base level that it can really open up how you approach the game and enemies as a whole. But the most common thread between them is the heavy emphasis on Hornet's mobility. No matter which crest or tools you have set up, with the rest of her evolving abilities being acquired, not only can you zip and zoom all around pretty much any enemy and in all the different, intricately designed areas, but you're very much are supposed to be doing so.

It's what the devs layed out in the expectation of how players should be playing the game. That might sound limiting, but they really equally fleshed out what you can do with it and give you much reason to do so.

The only annoyance that any of ya'll said that I feel has any real weight of merit to it is how the currency of the tools work. That gets that much more annoying that when fighting bosses, the minions don't drop any currency at all, not even that and that you can't refill your tools outside of on benches and only when you have that shards to do so. That and that they take quite a bit, if you die constantly during boss fights or gauntlets, you will be short of them really quickly.

All the other complaints, like level design/platforming segments, teleports, enemy design, benches-to-rosarie costs, etc., sounds more git gud status than being that egregious to me.
Funny enough, the last crest that I acquired actually as a default of its mechanics allows for tool replenish with its Silk ability. It still uses shards that you have on you, but at least you don't have to be at a bench to replenish the tools you have equipped. Now I just need to find more crest memories to actually entice me to use the damn thing.

You can actually do an unlimited health regen with that crest and a certain tool

Widow is kicking my ass man damn :damn:
On the last phase you gotta stand in the right corner of the room and wait for her to throw all that bullshyt, none of it should hit if you're standing in the right corner. After she shoots the diagonal bells she'll immediately do that dash move, hop up the wall to dodge and get your hits in then get back in the corner.

This is one of the fights I feel is badly designed, almost feels like it was meant to be cheesed.

Morrowing and skull tyrant (first fight) can be cheesed as well. For morrow, have it chase you to the updraft, fly up, go to the corner, downward slash until death. Skull tyrant is similar; have it chase you back to the little ledge and get hits when it jumps off after boulders; dash into the hallway when it charges and grab easy hits when it retreats back

That fight becomes significantly easier when you just give up on trying not to fall in the maggots. It's easier to just stand in the maggots where most of his attacks miss.
Yea I'm starting to see some fights you just need to eliminate as many variables as possible and simplify shyt.
