So I want a nice sound system for my living room but i'm not quite sure what I should get. I know a lot of coli folks have a nice setup so i'll appreciate any advice or recommendations

it's about 350 square feet and i want something loud, clear and crisp for movies, shows, sports and video games. i'm not into the whole rumble effect, plus i live in a condo and don't wanna piss my neighbors off. as for budget i'm not sure. i want something that's at least in the middle range of quality but ideally something closer to high end.

are sound bars any good for the price? ppl keep saying to get a tower so i don't wanna spend several hundred on a soundbar only to get shytty quality.

If you want clean bass get a sealed sub, not a ported one. Stay away from soundbars, they're good for small bedroom tv's but not much more.

Exactly, even though a few of these coli brehs will tell you that they have a sound bar that sounds just as good as a legit sound system I won't name names though

I ended up buying some cheap but good looking studio monitors and a sub for like 300 brand new
They suck for the studio but for hi fi what an investment
Music sounds good on them too

When you buying a receiver, make sure it comes with a few more extra hdmi ports than you currently need
