That happens a lot at hbcu's.

They didn't have enough room for someone I know, so she had to stay at a hotel, then they told her she would have to find someplace to live. It was out of state and she couldn't afford an appartment. She had to come back home and she never graduated college.

Another person I know stayed at a hotel for 3 weeks, then they found her a spot.

Another person I know parents payed for their apartment. Idk what happened after that. If they school gave them their money back or not.


That happened at 3 different hbcu's btw. 2 in the south.

I don't understand how they can do that after they already told them there'd be enough room. It's sad.


Edit: Just read. There are students who were promised spaces in dorms, but never got them and had to go back home. That's what I thought this thread was going to be about.

He shouldn't have broken the rules. I don't feel sorry for him.

Looks like living conditions are still pretty deplorable for some students. Flooding, mold, rodent infestation out of control due to dorms being vacated last year and not properly cleaned out. No space to move students out of dorms in need of repair. Where is all the money going?

Looks like living conditions are still pretty deplorable for some students. Flooding, mold, rodent infestation out of control due to dorms being vacated last year and not properly cleaned out. No space to move students out of dorms in need of repair. Where is all the money going?

Thank God I got to live in the Towers all four years But Howard definitely wack for not finding places for them kids. They had decades to buy up all that property around campus when it was dirt cheap (80s, 90s) and DC was a drug den yet they didn’t. You look around and it’s luxury condo buildings all around Howard University. If they were on their purpose they would’ve bought all those lots

Howard is one of the best colleges in the country but it has the worst (THE WORST) administration a school can have. Community colleges are ran better. People in the Administration Building truly do not give a fukk which is sad because they could easily fix 90% of their problems if they did.
